Scholarships
Knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. This is the credo of the European Urological Scholarship Programme (EUSP). Its 5 core programmes can offer you exclusive opportunities to visit prestigious European institutions, observe experts in action and undertake innovatory clinical and experimental research.
Programmes
The EUSP offers the following stellar programmes:
Short Visit
For a duration of 2 to 3 weeks, the Short Visit provides you with a first-rate learning experience at a centre of excellence in Europe. This programme can be a precursor to the 1-Year Scholarship and Fellowship programmes.
1-Year Scholarship
Take part in a year-long research project under the guidance of experts. Finetune your skills and enhance your knowledge in a leading certified host centre abroad.
Clinical Visit
Know the best practices by observing the experts firsthand at a reputable institution abroad for a period of 6 to 12 weeks. Collaborate with the experts to generate an international peer-reviewed publication.
Collaborative Fellowship
Elevate your capabilities and enrich your clinical practice through outstanding fellowships developed by the EUSP and the EAU Section Office.
Visiting Professor
Institutions in Europe can apply to this programme to receive support in hosting a leading European urologist as a visiting professor for 5 days.
Eligibility for the programmes
Applicants for the EUSP Scholarships must be EAU members who are urologists, urologists-in-training, or urology-associated basic scientists. All projects and/or visits must be conducted in a European institution. A candidate is eligible for one grant only, except in case of a short visit in preparation of a one-year scholarship.
A host centre may not organise two or more EUSP visits at the same time.
Further conditions for application can be found in the description of each programme.
Important dates
Every year, there are three deadline dates for the scholarship application: 1st of January, 1st of May, and 1st of September.
Host centres
To streamline the certification process of training centres, the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the European Board of Urology (EBU) developed the EUSP Host Centre Certification programme.
This certification enables an institution to provide scholars the locale for optimal knowledge exchange while setting standards for equal urological care in Europe. Applying for a visit at a Certified EUSP Host Centre is higly recommended, but not mandatory.

Collaboration with EAU RF
The EAU stimulates and supports innovative research by junior investigators to encourage knowledge exchange across the EU.
Research Labs
The EAU Section of Urological Research (ESUR) aims to promote basic and clinical research in the field of urology and related areas. Several labs of ESUR board and associate members can serve as host centre for EUSP visits.
